Adult Beginners Sewing Class

Our Adult Beginners Sewing Class is designed for adults with some sewing experience or those who have completed our Intro to Sewing class. This 3-week course (2.5 hours per session) will take you on a creative journey, teaching you essential sewing skills and allowing you to make three exciting projects along the way. Each week, you will build on your skills and create items you can proudly take home.
For the first two projects, all necessary materials will be provided. For the last project (shorts or pajama pants), you will need to bring your own fabric. We will  provide the commercial patterns for this project.

This class is a fantastic opportunity for adults to explore their creative side and gain valuable sewing skills in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you want to learn sewing for practical reasons or as a hobby, our Adult Beginners Sewing Class will help you get started on your sewing journey while benefiting from our expert tips and tricks, as well as troubleshooting insights. We will do our best to ensure you can complete all projects at your own pace, providing you with the necessary guidance and support along the way.

Projects:

1. Reversible Tote Bag: Learn the basics of sewing and create a stylish reversible tote bag that you can use for various purposes. You’ll master straight stitching, seam allowances, and finishing techniques.
2. Pillow with Appliqué and Zipper: Add a creative touch to your pillow project! Learn appliqué techniques and personalize your pillow design. You’ll also get hands-on experience with inserting zippers and honing your sewing precision.

3. Shorts or Pajama Pants: In the final week, you’ll take on a more advanced project, where you’ll learn how to read and cut a commercial pattern. Choose between sewing a pair of shorts or comfy pajama pants. Please bring your own fabric for this project.

   Kids ages 16 and up can come and sew with a parent. But, you must register for each person attending.

   Choose the session that works best for your schedule.

   Choose your session:
   Sunday, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM, December Session – December 3, 10 and 17
   Saturday, 4:00 PM – 6:30PM , January 13, 20 and 27th

   Minimum of 2 and Maximum of 6 students.

    

   For those who are interested in taking more session after this, sign up as level 2.
