Mending & Hand Sewing Basics for Adults, Wednesday sessions

🧵 Learn how to mend and repair clothing with simple hand-sewing techniques! This 2-week workshop is designed for adults who want to gain confidence in basic mending and hand-sewing—no sewing machine required. Kids ages  11+ are welcome with a participating adult.

Whether you need to sew on a button, fix a tear, or hem a pair of pants, this class will equip you with essential skills to keep your clothes in great shape.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️ How to sew a button (flat & shank)
✔️ Fixing holes & tears with hand-sewing
✔️ Hemming by hand (for pants, dresses, and curtains)
✔️ Repairing open seams
✔️ Essential hand stitches for mending:

• Whipstitch – Secure edges and mend small holes
• Slipstitch (Ladder Stitch) – Nearly invisible stitch for hemming & closing seams
• Running Stitch – Quick and versatile for basic repairs
• Blind Hem Stitch – Professional-looking hemming for pants, skirts, and curtains
